Detailed description
Annealed galvanised steel wire is the result of a combination of heat treatment and galvanisation. It benefits from both corrosion protection and improved mechanical properties (particularly malleability). This combination is often used in applications where the corrosion resistance of the steel wire is crucial, such as outdoor construction or marine applications.
The coil configuration (reel or spiral) allows the wire to be deployed in an orderly fashion, while facilitating storage and transport. It is used with specific devices, such as reels. These make it easy to deploy and extend steel wire in manufacturing or installation processes.
Wire coils are manufactured at our site in Couëron (44, France) and are available in C or B annealed galvanised steel.
– C annealing is generally used to improve the ductility and formability of the wire. This finish is recommended for use in marine environments.
– B annealing may be preferred to increase the strength and hardness of the wire.
Packaging
Coils of annealed galvanised steel wire C are available in coils of +/- 5kg and +/- 25kg.
Coils of annealed galvanised steel wire B are available in small coils of +/- 5kg.
Application areas
Hardware
Because it is flexible and malleable, annealed galvanised wire is used for a variety of hardware applications, such as fasteners and temporary outdoor fixings.
Building
The coil or spool of annealed galvanised steel wire is used for rapid binding of concrete reinforcement, particularly in outdoor environments (corrosion resistance).
Fences, fencing and agriculture
