Detailed description
Steel nails bent at 90° are used in cooperage. These nails are hammered into the wood, close to the metal ring. The head of the point is slightly offset and wider than the shank, which ensures that the strap is held securely.
Bêcherons are an essential part of cooperage. They ensure that barrels are watertight and strong.
Our bêcherons are well suited to manual installation, which is well known in the Bordeaux region.
Packaging
Our bêcherons are manufactured on our site in France and packaged in +/- 5 kg cartons.
Application areas
Cooperage
Used to secure barrel strapping (for wine and vinegar), the steel nail for barrel strapping, also known as the bêcheron, is an essential product for coopers. This nail holds the metal hoops around the barrel slats when the wood dries out.
