Detailed description
The cleats used to secure a fence can vary in size (length) and diameter. The dimensions of this U-shaped nail vary according to the type of fence, the wood used, its thickness and environmental conditions.
Our cleats are made of clear or galvanised steel (for better weather resistance). These products have a bevelled cut at the points for better penetration and hold in the wood.
It’s essential to choose the right cleats for your type of fence and install them correctly to ensure a strong, reliable trellis. They can be installed using a hammer or a manual stapler-nailer.
Packaging
Our studs are available in +/- 5 kg buckets.
Packaging of +/- 1 kg is also available on request (bag and/or box).
Application areas
Agriculture and landscaping
Fence cleats are used to secure agricultural wire mesh, bramble or barbed wire to wooden posts and poles. These products are also used in the construction of small wooden structures, such as huts or temporary shelters in outdoor environments.
Joinery
Cleats are used to assemble wooden furniture, such as wardrobes, tables, chairs, shelves, bed frames, etc. These clear or galvanised steel staples provide a strong, discreet fastening to hold pieces of joinery together.
DIY
cleats are often used in a variety of DIY projects involving wood, such as making shelves, storage boxes and birdhouses. They are also used to fix decorative mouldings, door frames, skirting boards and other wooden trim around doors and windows, etc.
Upholsterers
The angled cut of the cleat is also of interest to upholsterers, who use it to fix rushes to seats or ropes to bed bases.
