Detailed description
Galvanised hoops looped at both ends are ideal for protecting garden vegetables, plants and flowers from the ravages of cold, frost and insects. They offer a low-cost solution that’s quick and easy to install.
Anchored in the ground to support a tarpaulin or plastic film, these accessories create a protected growing area for plants. They can also be covered with a wintering or forcing veil to protect crops from insects, wind or temperature variations.
They are made from galvanised steel for a number of reasons: corrosion resistance, durability, strength, affordability and aesthetic appeal.
Our hoops are made to order with a diameter of 5 to 7 mm (standard Ø is 5.4 mm) for extra strength and a maximum length of 3.7 m.
They are produced in France, at our factory in Couëron (44) on the banks of the Loire.
Packaging
Our Nantes hoops are packaged in batches of 50 to 1,000.
Application areas
Shelters and greenhouses
Galvanised hoops are often used to create greenhouse structures or temporary shelters in gardening. These accessories can be driven into the ground to support a tarpaulin or plastic film, creating a protected growing area for garden plants. Steel considerably strengthens the greenhouse structure, making it more resistant to the elements.
Crop protection, market gardening
In agriculture, Nantais hoops are used to create forcing tunnels and protect plantations. They can then be covered with a winter veil to protect plants from insects, wind or temperature variations.
Mesh supports
Galvanised steel Nantes hoops, looped at the ends, can be used to create trellis supports for climbing plants. They are particularly effective for growing peas, beans or tomatoes, as the plants can climb these structures, making harvesting easier.
Animal shelters
Galvanised hoops can be used to create temporary shelters for animals such as horses, dogs or farm animals.
Vertical gardening
Nantais hoops can be fixed to a wall or fence to create a vertical gardening structure for growing plants high up.
